3 charged with human trafficking involving juvenile in Washington County

SPRINGFIELD, Ky. – Three people are facing human trafficking charges involving a juvenile in Washington County.

According to a release by the Kentucky State Police Post 15, in early September 2024, troopers received a report alleging possible human trafficking and sexual contact between three individuals and a juvenile.

Authorities say following an extensive investigation, the case was presented to the Washington County Grand Jury on April 16, 2026. The grand jury returned an indictment for the following individuals:

• Thirty-nine-year-old Christopher Firkins of Springfield. Springfield is charged with six counts of human trafficking – commercial sexual act (victim under 18), 12 counts of incest, 18 counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, six counts of second-degree sodomy, six counts of second-degree rape and six counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Firkins was arrested in Washington County on April 19, 2026 and lodged in Marion County Detention Center.
• Forty-one-year-old Brandy Doyle of Mount Washington. Doyle was charged with six counts of human trafficking – commercial sexual act (victim under 18), 18 counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, six counts of second-degree sodomy, six counts of second-degree rape and six counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Doyle was arrested in Bullitt County on July 8, 2026 and lodged in the Bullitt County Detention Center.
• Thirty-three-year-old Samuel Firkins of Taylorsville. Firkins is charged with one count of human trafficking – commercial sexual act (victim under 18) and one count of first-degree sexual abuse. Firkins was arrested in Jefferson County on May 13, 2026 and lodged in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

The investigation remains ongoing.
