LUCAS, Ky. – Four people have been transported to a hospital for treatment after a crash in Barren County.

According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, deputies responded to 11320 Scottsville Road to a collision involving two vehicles.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation revealed Chasity McClard of Scottsville was traveling southbound when she observed a vehicle turning left into a driveway. Deputies say while trying to avoid a collision, McClard steered into the northbound lane, overcorrecting and causing her vehicle to spin.

According to authorities, a vehicle driven by Gerald Kieffer of Scottsville was traveling northbound on Scottsville Road when Kieffer tried to avoid the McClard’s vehicle but was unable to do so, hitting the driver’s side back quarter of it as it spun.

McClard and two small children from her vehicle were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Keiffer was also transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The collision remains under investigation.
