18th annual 400 Mile Sale huge success; tourists and locals thrilled

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For the 18th year in a row, people in South Central Kentucky participated in the 400 Mile Sale.

People drove up and down Highway 68 to browse different barn sale, yard sale, estate sale, rummage sale or roadside stands.

In our area, folks in Warren, Barren and Metcalfe counties registered for the multi-site sales.

For almost two decades, local families and out-of-town travelers use the 400 Mile Sale to set up lemonade stands, visit local restaurants, check out tourism hot spots and stay in hotels.

Tanya Washington has participated as a merchant in this sale for the last five years. This year, she’s selling three different families’ antiques and knick-knacks.

“It’s fun, because you get to meet and talk to people from different places. I enjoy it,” said Tanya. “I’m a talker, so I enjoy talking to the different people that come by, especially the same ones you’ve had conversations with over the years. It’s nice to see how they’re doing.”

Tanya was already talking about what they’ll sell next year.
