18-year-old accused of armed robbery in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- An 18-year-old is behind bars in Warren County after being accused of robbing a man at gunpoint.

The incident occurred Sunday around 2 p.m. at an apartment in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street in Bowling Green.

According to an arrest citation, the victim was attempting to purchase a cell phone from Lee Hartz, 18, of Louisville, and another individual. The victim told police Hartz pointed a gun at his head, while the other subject stole $250 cash and his cell phone.

Hartz was later apprehended during a traffic stop along with the other subject, who was identified as a juvenile. Police said they found the handgun in the vehicle, along with marijuana, a scale and other drug related items.

Hartz was arrested and charged with numerous crimes, including first-degree robbery.

Hartz was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail and the other subject was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
