Woman allegedly throws kitten into Humane Society for Logan County
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – A woman allegedly threw a kitten into the Humane Society for Logan County, according to a social media post by the shelter.
On Wednesday, rescuers updated the post, stating the woman had been identified, and the “matter has been discussed.”
The humane society stated the individual had entered the shelter on a day it was closed and stated she had spoken to them about the shelter taking in a kitten. Despite this, shelter staff state that conversation had not previously taken place.
According to the humane society, after stating there would be an intake fee to cover the cost of medications given to every animal that enters the shelter, the individual became agitated, walked out the door and threw the kitten into the building.
The video attached below appears to show this action.
The humane society is reminding the community it does not receive county funding.
The shelter stated, “We help every single animal that we can, but we also can’t overload our staff, our budget or our tiny shelter. This behavior can not continue! These animals are the ones suffering, and acts like this make it so much worse. Please hold this woman accountable. This is not okay.”
Further details on this case have not been released at this time. News 40 has contacted local law enforcement on the matter and will share further information as it is released.
