WKU Women’s Tennis announces 2026-27 schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Women’s Tennis Head Coach Greg Davis announced his team’s 2026-27 schedule on Wednesday.

The Lady Toppers, who are in the winningest five-year stretch in program history, will play in three events this fall before beginning the spring schedule in mid-January.

The spring regular season features 24 matches, with 14 matches at home in Bowling Green at either the WKU Tennis Complex on WKU’s South Campus or at the Warren County Tennis Facility at Michael O. Buchanon Park. The Lady Toppers are scheduled to play six Conference USA opponents in the regular season before the CUSA Tournament in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on April 22-25. “This is going to be a very challenging schedule,” WKU Women’s Tennis Head Coach Greg Davis said. “Two Power Four schools in January on the road and the top team in the MAC in Ball State also on the road. Jax State, FIU, Liberty, UAB all on our home court. This will be one of the top schedules we’ve played in my nine years at WKU.”

The Lady Toppers get started in the fall with the APSU Fall Tournament in Clarksville, Tennessee, from Sept. 25-27. Select Lady Toppers will attend the ITA Ohio Valley Regional in Cincinnati, Ohio, from Oct. 8-13, and the team will wrap up the fall at the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, from Oct. 23-25.

WKU is scheduled to start the 2027 spring season at home with a match against Eastern Kentucky on Jan. 14, before hitting the road for six consecutive matches. The Lady Toppers will play their first Power Conference opponent at Louisville on Jan. 17, before matches at Bellarmine on Jan. 18, at Ball State on Jan. 23, at Butler on Jan. 24 and at Northern Kentucky on Jan. 29. The Lady Tops conclude their six-match stretch on the road facing another Power Conference opponent at Cincinnati on Jan. 30.

The Lady Toppers return home to play a doubleheader against Southern Indiana and Tennessee State on Feb. 5 before going on the road to play Lipscomb on Feb. 13.

WKU then comes home for eight matches, starting with a match against Austin Peay on Feb. 19, followed by their first CUSA match against Jax State on Feb. 26. The Lady Toppers host matches against SEMO on Feb. 27, Murray State on March 7 and SIU Edwardsville on March 8 before facing CUSA opponents Missouri State on March 12 and Liberty on March 14. WKU caps off the eight-match homestand with a match against St. Thomas on March 23.

The Lady Toppers finish March with a road match against Belmont on March 26, a home match against FIU on March 27 and a home match against Alabama A&M on March 31.

WKU faces CUSA opponent Middle Tennessee on the road on April 5. The Lady Toppers play their final home match on April 11 when they host UAB. The Lady Toppers are slated to finish the regular season with an away match at Sam Houston on April 17.

The CUSA Tournament will be hosted by New Mexico State in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The event is scheduled for April 22-25.

WKU returns six players from the 2025-26 roster – Isabelle Einess, Ariadna Fernandez, Virginia Madueño, Barbara Olvera, Emily Schut and Andra Sirbu. The Lady Toppers bring in two newcomers for the 2026-27 season — Madison Hill and Emily Meng.

The Lady Toppers finished the 2026 season with an 11-14 record, marking the fifth straight season the program has reached double-digit wins. It marks the second time in program history that WKU women’s tennis has accomplished the feat, having previously done so from 2009-13. The Lady Toppers have won 73 matches over the last five seasons, which is the highest win total over a five-year period in program history.
