WKU Mourns the Loss of the Star on Campus
Bowling Green, KY. – WKU lost a vital helper over the weekend.
Star, WKU’s Animal Assisted Therapy dog, lost her life on Saturday due to a sudden autoimmune crisis.
Mental Health Therapist and secondary handler of WKU’s therapy dog, Elizabeth Madariaga, shares the legacy of Star.
“She was an incredibly empathetic dog. Like she really could pick up on synch. She was fantastic at her job.. She really really was.”
The Director of the WKU Counselling Center, Dr. Peggy Crowe, says WKU’s furry friend of 6 years will be honored by putting her work vest in the lobby of the Counseling Center on the 4th floor of Potter Hall.
