WKU indoor golf facility named after head coach who recently died

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Western Kentucky University community came together Friday afternoon to honor a coach who tragically died in June 2018.

University officials and student-athletes dedicated a new indoor golf facility to Phillip Hatchett, who coached both the ladies and men’s golf teams from 2010-2018 and actually played on the western team from 1980-1982.

Hatchett died in an accident while riding his bicycle on U.S.-68 West in Logan County.

The Phillip Hatchett Golf Facility is located at WKY’s south campus on Campbell Lane.

The building includes two hitting bays, a putting green, a players lounge and a memorial wall dedicated to Hatchett.

Just last year, Rolling Hills Golf Course in Russellville dedicated one of its buildings to Hatchett as well.
