WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Farmers RECC restores service for thousands, over two thousand remain without power

UPDATE (7/22/26) 8:30 AM – Farmers RECC says crews restored power for 2,600 members overnight. 2,600 members remain without power Wednesday morning.

East Kentucky Power Cooperative will be changing out a transformer in the Knob Lick substation, serving Metcalfe County, according to a release.

GLASGOW, Ky. – Farmers RECC says 5,200 members are currently without power.

The electric cooperative anticipates service restoration completion on Friday, according to a release. Officials say members with electricity-dependent medical devices should make alternate plans.

Crews are reporting facing broken poles, many downed lines and trees and other adverse restoration conditions.

Farmers RECC power supplier, East Kentucky Power Cooperative, lost a transformer at the Knob Lick substation that services Metcalfe County, according to the release. Officials expect Center and Sulphur Well residents to be without power overnight.
