Wednesday update: Coronavirus numbers in south central Kentucky
Governor Andy Beshear announced the second highest daily number of cases since the start of the pandemic on Wednesday. 1,487 new cases were reported during Wednesday afternoon’s press conference.
21 more Kentuckians have died from the virus Wednesday, which is the second highest daily total since the beginning of the pandemic. That brings the total number of lives lost here in Kentucky to 1,364.
According to the Barren River District Health Department, there have been 8,712 total cases in the surrounding counties combined since the start of the pandemic, 7,288 have recovered.
No new deaths are reported in the surrounding counties.
