Wawa announces opening date for first Bowling Green location
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The first Wawa location in Bowling Green will open this summer.
According to a release, Wawa will open at 800 Gunnison Trail Way on Thursday, July 9. Organizers say doors will open at 8 a.m., with a T-shirt giveaway for the first 250 customers, as supplies last.
A ribbon cutting will take place at 8:30 a.m.
Wawa opened its first Kentucky location in July 2025 and has expanded to eight locations in the state.
The company plans to open four to eight Kentucky locations a year over the next five to eight years.
According to the release, Wawa plans to open forty stores across the state.
Wawa is hosting a “Taste of Wawa” event the day before the first Bowling Green location opens.
The convenience retailer is asking the public to share stories about Wawa memories at wawa.com/iframe/form/bowlinggreen-ky-taste-of-wawa-event ahead of the event.
