Warren County Sheriff’s Office announces July traffic safety checkpoint date
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office released the date for the next active traffic safety checkpoint Thursday.
Sheriff Brett Hightower says the checkpoint will be active on Saturday, July 4 between 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm at four possible locations.
- 3000 Block Glasgow Road
- 1400 Block Porter Pike
- 8000 Block Smiths Grove Scottsville Road
- 5000 Block Russellville Road
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say studies show that traffic safety checkpoints reduce alcohol-related traffic crashes by about 20 percent. They say another study shows that the checkpoints reduce all crashes by 10 to 15 percent.
