UPDATE: Fatal collision on I-65; left lane of I-65 reopened
FRANKLIN, Ky. – The middle and left lane have reopened on I-65 southbound just south of exit 6, according to a release by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The right lane and shoulder remain blocked near the 5 mile marker.
Crews continue to work on cleanup around the 5 mile marker, which will cause the right lane and shoulder area to remain blocked.

FRANKLIN Ky. – At 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning, a fatal collision took place at exit 2 in Franklin involving five vehicles. KSP has confirmed one fatality at this location.
At about 6 a.m., a collision took place involving three tractor trailers and about six to seven vehicles at exit 5 northbound. Multiple vehicles caught fire, and this accident resulted in minor injuries, according to KSP.
Throughout the morning, there have been multiple non-injury collisions on I-65 as well.
According to Priddy of KSP, it will be a few hours before I-65 is reopened fully.
KSP further stated that the southbound area of I-65 is shutdown, but the northbound is normal.

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is working a fatal collision on I-65 south at the two mile marker.
According to KSP, a detour has been set up at exit 6 just north of Franklin.
One fatality has been confirmed by Trooper Daniel Priddy.
