Two arrested in weekend shooting in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Ky. – Two men are facing multiple charges after a shooting in Glasgow on Saturday.
On Saturday, June 18, the Glasgow Police Department responded to a shooting complaint on Bryan Street.
According to authorities, officers determined multiple people had an altercation after a vehicle made several trips in the area before stopping at a residence. The subject in the vehicle brandished a firearm, which led to several shots being fired and one person being struck in the hand area, according to GPD.
The victim left the scene in a vehicle and traveled to North Race Street to a residence. Barren County EMS then transported the victim to T.J. Samson Hospital for his injuries, where he was treated and released.
Bryan Street and North Race Street were shut down for a short period of time while the scene was being processed, however, they are both open now.
James Smith, 40, of Glasgow was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, wanton endangerment, first degree (two counts), and tampering with physical evidence.
Steven Brown, 31, of Glasgow, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, wanton endangerment, first degree, and tampering with physical evidence.
The case remains under investigation with further arrests possible.
