The People’s Bank celebrates June Dairy Day
GLASGOW, Ky. – Community members gathered in Glasgow to celebrate National Dairy Month during The People’s Bank’s annual Dairy Day event.
The event welcomed families to enjoy free milk, ice cream and cookies while learning more about the local dairy industry and the farmers who help sustain it.
Attendees also had the opportunity to meet a calf from Legacy Dairy and visit educational booths hosted by the Barren County FFA and Kentucky State University.
Organizers say Dairy Day is designed to connect the community with local agriculture while recognizing the hard work and dedication of dairy farmers across the region.
“Being a dairy farmer is a hard job,” said Terry Bunnell, president and CEO of The People’s Bank. “It’s seven days a week, 365 days a year. Whether it’s raining or shining, hot or cold, they’re out there working. We just want to recognize that and say thank you to our farmers.”
National Dairy Month is observed each June to honor dairy farmers and highlight the important role dairy products play in a balanced diet.
