South Warren FFA are state champions for the 4th year in a row
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Four Future Farmers of America (FFA) students have been recognized as the best in the state out of 20,000 FFA students.
Jamison Woosley, Gavin Kennedy, Evan Blythe, and Caterina Burress competed in the Small Power competition at the Kentucky State Fair, winning first place. The competition had four parts: tool identification, skills, problem solving, and book work.
FFA is a youth leadership organization that strives to help teens in leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
“It certainly prepared us for later in life because small engines are pretty common around Kentucky so knowing the ins and outs of them or fixing them yourself or helping a neighbor is just what’s really important,” said Woosley.
“I’m super proud. I’m super proud of these guys. And for me it’s really exciting to look forward to the future now and hold this team up on a pedestal and say hey guys look at these, look how great these guys did,” said FFA advisor Mr. Thomas Poole.
There were high stakes for the group. The FFA South Warren team has won state four years in a row.
