SoKY’s Choice: Bowling Green Hot Rods hosts 11th annual Bourbon and Brewfest
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green Hot Rods hosted 15 different distilleries and over 25 different local vendors for the 11th annual Bourbon and Brewfest.
Bourbon and Brewfest brought Kentucky together by inviting the community to try bourbon and other food and drinks from all over the state. Along with the breweries and distilleries invited, local Bowling Green vendors set up tents. The event included live music, new experiences, and a way to bring all of Kentucky to one place for the day. The event is not only special to the ballpark, but it is also special to the people who eld run the event like Kyle Wolz, general manager and COO of Bowling Green Hot Rods.
“This event is one of my favorite events. And, you know, we put on every year. Like I said, it’s the 11th anniversary of the festival and I’ve been a part of all 11 of them. With that you’re able to have some fun you’re able to bring in new distilleries, new breweries, new vendors that you can shop at and offer new food items and all nine yards, but a lot of fun, my favorite event to plan.” Says Wolz.
Event attendees got 15 different punches on their cards to try different tents spread all across the hot Rods stadium. VIP event attendees got 20 punches to do the same. The event featured local music groups from Kentucky, and it not only drew people in from the state but also from all over. Some attendees visited from Canada to visit a friend, but also attend an event as special as this.
With the event bringing in such a large crowd, the planning had to start early on.
“You know, the planning never stopped with this festival. The planning is year round with different events that we do all year. And, you know, it’s very exciting to get to plan that on top of the baseball games. So, you know, we’re staying all year long. And this definitely took several months to put in the works.” Says Wolz.
