SOKY Fair kicks off in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- It’s that time of year again to grab the family and head to the SOKY Fair at Lampkin Park.

Rain or shine, fair organizers say they are bringing the fun while ensuring that everyone is safe.

Freddy Miller, the owner of Miller’s Spectacular Shows, said, “We will keep all the rides open as long as it’s safe to keep them open. The one thing that we really don’t have a lot of room to work with is lightning. We do monitor the weather very heavily, so we don’t have somebody 100 feet in the air and all of a sudden, it’s pouring down raining on them. We want to try and keep everyone dry and as safe as we can.”

The fair has brought fun to locals for over 70 years and will be happening from July 25th through the 30th.

There will be live music, food, games, rides and more throughout the week.

Fair goers can also enjoy multiple track events and the local pageant.

Admission starts at $12 for all events and carnival rides and $15 for unlimited rides and track events. Children under 36″ get in free.

More information about the events hosted throughout the week can be found at sokyfair.org.

Gates open daily at 6 p.m.

Track events start at 7:30 p.m.
