Sen. Rand Paul, Charles Booker talk debate
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Over the weekend, Sen. Paul’s opponent, Charles Booker, stopped in Bowling Green to meet with community members.
Booker won the democratic nomination over three other candidates in the primary election in May. He now faces incumbent Republican Senator Paul in the general election in November. Paul is running for his third term as Senator.
Booker said he wants to have a debate with Senator Paul. News 40 asked Paul for comment, and he said that’ll happen when the election draws closer.
“We haven’t decided. I mean typically I think in 2016 the last time when I ran we did have a debate in the fall, we’ll address that as we get closer to the fall,” said Paul.
“I’m excited to debate Rand Paul. I would like to call Rand Paul a coward but I want him to prove me wrong and debate me because the people of Kentucky want to hear the vision for their lives. I will go anywhere Rand Paul wants to, on any court,” said Booker.
The general election is Tuesday, November 8th.
