Road crews prepare for winter weather
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Road crews from every county in the WNKY viewing area are preparing to respond to this winter weather event that could create hazardous driving conditions overnight.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has been monitoring the forecast.
Officials said the warm weather Sunday and Monday will help reduce the possibility of hazardous road conditions, but with temperatures expecting to plummet, if there’s water on the roadway, it could freeze creating some icy conditions.
Wes Watt of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said due to rain, road crews cannot put down salt yet.
Officials are warning motorists to keep this in mind for travel tonight and during their morning commute on Tuesday and said motorists should give themselves some extra time to clear windshields and warm vehicles prior to departing.
