Reynolds Station man dies after being trapped under lawnmower

REYNOLDS STATION, Ky. – An Ohio County man is dead after a lawnmower accident Thursday afternoon.

According to the Ohio County Coroner’s Office, authorities responded to the 3900 block of Hawesville Road in Reynolds Station to a report of a man trapped underneath a riding lawnmower.

When first responders arrived, they located an unresponsive man beneath the mower.

OCCO says its investigation shows that the man was attempting to mow a steep incline when the mower “spun out” near the top of the incline and overturned. The mower came to a rest at the bottom of the incline.

OCCO identified the man as 60-year-old Jeffrey D. Wells, of Reynolds Station. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fordsville Fire Department, Ohio County EMS, and the Ohio Co. Sheriff’s Office assisted OCCO’s investigation.
