Retailers excited to open again
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After being closed for two months due to the covid-19 pandemic, today was finally the day non-essential retailers in Kentucky were able to open their doors for face-to-face shopping.
Requirements like social-distancing and wearing masks are now a standard of this new era.
Retailers like Barbara Stewart Interiors got creative during the mandatory shutdown, selling merchandise via text messaging and offering curbside pick-up.
And while customers may not express concern about getting out and shopping in person, some store managers believe they still may have reservations.
Susan Hoechner, of Barbara Stewart interiors, said finding some of the supplies she needed to reopen was challenging at times but she’s glad to be back open. She also said she plans to continue offering curbside pickup as well as shopping via text messaging because customers enjoy the convenience.
