RAMSEY NAMED CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF WARREN RECC
Scott Ramsey has been selected as
Warren RECC's new Chief Executive Officer. Ramsey, formerly of Union County,
Kentucky, most recently served as President and CEO of Southern Illinois Power
Cooperative in Marion, Illinois. He has been involved in the power industry for
nearly 30 years, at both the distribution and generation/ transmission levels.
Ramsey and his wife, Valeda, a
Glasgow native, are both graduates of Western Kentucky University. In the
mid-1980s, Ramsey served an engineering internship at Bowling Green Municipal
Utilities. His other utility experience was gained at Oglethorpe Power
Corporation in Tucker, Georgia and Richmond Power & Light in Richmond,
Indiana. The Ramsey's have two daughters, Rachel and Lydia, both of whom are
college students.
“My family and I are looking
forward to coming home to Kentucky. We have family in Bowling Green, Glasgow, Lexington,
and the surrounding area, so we are extremely excited,” said Ramsey. He went on
to say that he appreciates the confidence Warren RECC's Board of Directors has
placed in him to lead the organization, which is celebrating its 75th
anniversary.
“There were some very good
candidates, but the Board is confident we made the right choice with Scott
Ramsey,” said Rebecca Goad, President of the Board of Directors.
Ramsey will assume the CEO
position on September 26, 2013.
Warren RECC serves a growing
region in south central Kentucky of approximately 150,000 people and over
60,000 member accounts in eight counties. The cooperative purchases wholesale power
from the Tennessee Valley Authority and delivers it through the Warren RECC
transmission and distribution system.
