Peace Officer Memorial service honors fallen law enforcement
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-On Friday afternoon, dozens of law enforcement and local officials gathered for the Peace Officer Memorial Service, held at the L&N Train Depot.
During the service they honored those who died in the line of duty, and also honored all the officers who passed away in the last year.
All of them have given back to the community and country, and the ceremony’s purpose was to recognize their service and dedication.
Mayor Todd Alcott also signed a proclamation making May 11-17 Bowling Green/Warren County Peace Officers Memorial Week.
“I want us to recognize the good work that they did and not only at funerals when you’re crying but come out today and celebrate. Tell stories of what these officers have done that have come before us and really just appreciate them,” said FOP President Robert Perry.
