Oregonians Give Back
Volunteers work to feed fire crews who have been battling Oregon's massive Riverside fire. KGW's Mike Benner reports.
(KGW/NBC News) — Milder weather has enabled firefighters in Oregon to make significant progress on the Riverside fire ravaging Clackamas County.
The Riverside fire had moved within a half mile of Estacada late last week, but after two days of concentrated efforts the threat to that small city may have passed.

One crew from South Dakota has been working 16 hour days, with only a few hours of sleep. They spent Monday cutting trees and digging trenches near the fire lines.
Volunteeers came together to serve a special thank-you dinner Monday evening.
