Operation Santa Dash brings smiles to the community

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you saw Santa and the Grinch riding around with the Bowling Green Police and Fire Departments on Thursday, you aren’t crazy! You got a joyous glimpse of Operation Santa Dash!

The event is a mini-Christmas parade put on by the city of Bowling Green to bring a little bit of holiday cheer to the area.

Santa brightened the days of men and women in senior living homes, children and people in the hospital waving and spreading a little bit of Christmas cheer.

The goal of the experience, to spread Christmas cheer to the people of Bowling Green, according to Courtney Stevens, one of the coordinators for the event.

“Oh my gosh! How can it not be fun to run around with Santa and the Grinch on a sled around Bowling Green! But the real tender part is getting to reach out to people who would never maybe be able to come to us. So going through the different housing authorities in low-income housing and the preschools to see kids and, of course, in nursing homes, you wouldn’t believe the smiles,” said Stevens.

A bit of Christmas magic and fun for all ages.

This is the second year for Operation Santa Dash.
