One man died during a collision in Allen County

SCOTTSVILLE, KY. – A community is mourning the loss of a man pronounced dead after a car crash Tuesday morning.

At around 9:20 a.m. Kentucky State Police were requested by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a fatal collision in Allen County.

The collision happened at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Halfway Halifax Road.

According to a release, Gaylon Guy, 64, of Scottsville pulled in front of a 2018 Kenworth commercial vehicle hauling grain and was struck in the passenger side.

Guy’s 2011 Chevrolet Impala was severely damaged, and he was pronounced dead by the Allen County Coroner.

Halifax Volunteer Fire Department, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and the Scottsville Fire Department assisted the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
