One injured in wreck on Louisville Road

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man who was driving a moped on Louisville Road was critically injured Wednesday morning after being struck by pick up truck.

At 8:53 a.m. a moped driver was hit at Louisville Road and Plum Springs Loop. The driver of the bike was ejected and the bike landed off of the road and caught fire, Bowling Green Police Department spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward said.

The driver of the motorcycle was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The accident report shows that Rickey Hundley, of Bowling Green, was driving a truck behind a moped driven by Kelton Hawkins. Another vehicle was between the two and when that vehicle changed lanes, Hundley told police he didn’t see Hawkins in time to stop, according to the collision report.

Hawkins is listed in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt, according to hospital officials.

Hundley remained at the scene and voluntarily submitted to a blood draw at The Medical Center, according to the collision report.
