Officials lift burn bans in Edmonson, Metcalfe counties

EDMONSON, METCALFE COUNTIES, Ky. – Burn bans are now lifted in both Edmonson and Metcalfe counties following recent weather conditions.

The bans were initially issued through executive orders by each county’s judge executive due to drought conditions.

Although the outdoor burn bans are lifted, fire hazard season remains in effect through Thursday, April 30.

Open burning remains prohibited within 150 feet of wooded areas between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., according to the Kentucky Division of Forestry.

Both Warren County and Logan County have additionally lifted their burn bans.
