New U.S. Post Office opens on State Street
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A new U.S. Post Office has finally opened in downtown Bowling Green.
The new location at 628 state street is across from Circus Square Park, in a new building.
In 2016, the former office on 11th Ave. was sold to a developer. The new office is much smaller than the old one. It’s only 4-thousand square feet compared to the old office, which was 36-thousand square feet.
Since the old office has been closed, customers have had to go to the other office located on Scottsville road, which is much further out.
The postmaster at the new location, says it’s nice to have an office downtown once again.
“We’re very excited to be in our new location. One of our main customer concerns when we closed the old building, was to keep a location downtown to serve our customers. The building is brand new, so it’s a great opportunity, we’re excited to be here,” said Andrea Forsythe, Postmaster at the U.S. Post Office in Bowling Green.
P.O. box mail previously available at the 11th street location, is now only available at the new State Street address.
