New details released after fatal Hart County shooting incident

UPDATE May 26 at 6 p.m. 

Further details have been released after a fatal shooting incident in Hart County last week.

According to Parker, an altercation occurred between 34-year-old Scott Hinchey of Angleton, Texas and 42-year-old Kordez Odom of Shubuta, Mississippi.

During the altercation, Parker says Hinchey pulled out a weapon and shot Odom.

Odom died due to his wounds, according to Parker.

HORSE CAVE, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal shooting incident in Hart County.

KSP Public Affairs Officer Katan Parker tells WNKY News 40 that the incident occurred at Love’s Travel Stop located at 4000 L and N Turnpike Road in Horse Cave.

Troopers responded to the travel stop at 4 am Friday.

One person is dead.

Parker says there is no threat to the community, and no arrests are expected at this time.
