National Prescription Drug Take Back Day took place Saturday in Bowling Green

Bowling Green, Ky. – On Saturday the Bowling Green Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and Kentucky State Police participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Drug overdoses killed over 2,000 individuals last year in Kentucky alone.

There were four collection points in Warren County including police departments, Greenwood High School, and Smiths Grove city hall.

When asked about the take back day, Warren County Sheriff Office’s Patrol Operations Manager Captain Curtis Hargett stated, “We have several locations posted around Bowling Green for people who have older, expired medication that they’re just wanting to get rid of because it’s cluttering up some cabinet spaces. It’s just a good time to come out, drop off your old medication.”
