Multiple crashes reported on I-65 in Hart County

HART COUNTY, Ky. – Multiple crashes have been reported on Interstate 65 northbound and southbound in Hart County on Friday amid rainfall, transportation officials say.

According to a social media post by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District Four, the crashes have been reported through central and northern Hart County on I-65 along mile markers 63 through 72 northbound and the 74-mile marker southbound.

At 3 p.m., KYTC stated the northbound lane was completely blocked at the 67-mile marker just north of Munfordville.

Transportation officials are advising drivers to reduce speed while heading into rainy conditions due to reduced traction and stopping distance. Drivers are additionally recommended to leave plenty of space between vehicles.

KYTC stated to consider an alternate route for the “next couple of hours” as of 3 p.m.
