Metcalfe County Middle School names new assistant principal

EDMONTON, Ky. – Metcalfe County Schools has named Matt Reed as the newly appointed assistant principal at Metcalfe County Middle School.

According to the district, Reed is taking over for LeAnne Bell, who was recently promoted to the principal of MCMS.

Reed began his eduational career 18 years ago as a physical education teacher at Edmonton Elementary, then Metcalfe Elementary before transferring to the middle school, the district says.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as assistant principal at Metcalfe County Middle School, the school that has been my home for the past 6 years,” Reed said. “Teaching here has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with our students, families, and staff. I am excited to continue making connections and helping our students and staff grow, learn, and achieve great things together.”

Bell said, “I’m excited about Mr. Reed being our next assistant principal. He consistently steps up as a leader at MCMS and is well-respected by our school community. I look forward to working with him to help lead us forward.”
