Megan’s Mobile Grocery hosts annual lip sync battle

BOWLING GREEN, KY – Megan’s Mobile Grocery held its annual Lip Sync Battle on Saturday.

Megan’s Mobile Grocery held its lip sync battle in order to raise awareness and fundraise for the grocery. The theme this year was girl power, and community members all did acts that were inspired by female artists. This event is important to many community members, but especially to the ones who help plan it all.

“Back when we were coming up with fundraising ideas, Megan Davidson was on our board, and she did. She passed away in a tragic accident, and she had this idea. And I also had this idea. So when we both figured out that we had this idea. We were like, we have to do it. ” Says board member Sarah Bessinger. 

Bessinger was in charge of planning the whole event and getting the community together to do what it knows best: support each other. Organizations from all over Bowling Green, from schools to Habitat for Humanity, participated.

The event also reminded everyone of who they are doing this for, and for Bessinger it’s for Megan.

“I want to keep doing it in her honor because she was so passionate about Megan’s Mobile Grocery. Obviously, it’s named after her now, and I do it in her memory and we all do,” says Sarah Bessinger.
