Med Center Health’s Dr. Moss is first person to get COVID-19 vaccine in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Dr. William Moss was the first frontline healthcare worker in Bowling Green to receive the COVID-19 vaccine earlier this afternoon at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
“It has been overwhelming,” said Moss.
It was an emotional day for him.
Moss said his colleague and dear friend Dr. Rebecca Shadowen would have been the first to get the vaccine. She passed away in September when she lost her fight to COVID-19, therefore he was the next in line to get it.
“I was telling others earlier today, I felt a great deal of sadness because I know the seat that I was sitting, Dr. Shadowen would’ve been there,” said Moss.
He was bittersweet, as he said it means good things for the future.
“It’s a light at the end of the tunnel for all of us. This vaccine is the way out of this mess.”
On Tuesday more frontline workers at The Medical Center will receive the vaccine.
