Marine One helicopter undergoing restorations is almost complete
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The restoration on a historical helicopter is nearly complete at the Aviation Heritage Park in Bowling Green.
Marine One, a helicopter used to fly the president, is almost ready for the public’s viewing.
After a year of manual labor, partially stalled by COVID-19, the helicopter has made its way from Jacksonville, Fla. to Bowling Green and been restored.
This project is in honor of a local marine, the late Mac Reynolds of Bowling Green, was the pilot of the same kind of helicopter and flew four different presidents in it.
The men working on the machine are putting on the final touches this week.
The helicopter will be revealed to the public officially next week.
