Man charged with theft in Allen County

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – One man is facing a theft charge in Allen County.

According to a uniform citation, the Scottsville Police Department responded Friday, Sept. 18 to a Dollar General Market at 40 Burnley Road for a theft report regarding a wallet.

Authorities say upon arrival, officers say they viewed surveillance footage of a subject with a wallet in a shopping cart.

Police say with assistance from the public after a social media post seeking tips, they identified the male as 46-year-old Daniel Taylor of Scottsville.

Officers say Taylor denied any incident happening and was placed under arrest.

Taylor faces a charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others between $500 and $1,000. He has since been released from the Allen County Detention Center.

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Scottsville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual.

SPD released photos of the individual on the department’s Facebook Page Friday evening (pictured above).

The individual appears to be a male with long brown hair wearing glasses, a black t-shirt, and gray pants.
