Man charged in reported motorcycle pursuit through Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – One man is facing multiple charges after a reported motorcycle pursuit through Morgantown Tuesday morning.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police observed a motorcycle traveling on Bowling Green Road at midnight. Authorities say they were later told a motorcycle was involved in a pursuit.
Authorities say they arrived on scene after the pursuit ended.
The operator of the motorcycle was identified as 37-year-old Jeremiah Keen of Owensboro. Deputies say Keen admitted to fleeing from law enforcement.
Deputies say initially, the motorcycle had been seen without an illuminated license plate.
While attempting a traffic stop, authorities say Keen had failed to stop after turning into a driveway.
Keen then drove through multiple yards and a field before leaving the motorcycle and running from law enforcement, authorities say.
After a pursuit and requesting Keen to drop a weapon, authorities say they tackled Keen to the ground.
Keen then resisted arrest, authorities say, leading a deputy to sustain a shoulder injury.
Keen was arrested and transported to the Butler County Jail.
He is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of defaced firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting arrest, third-degree assault of a police officer or probation officer, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespassing, tampering with physical evidence, destruction of VIN number, receiving stolen property between $1,000 and $10,000, rear license plate not illuminated, license plate not legible, failure to or improper signal, no motorcycle operators license, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance/security, first offense, no registration receipt, no registration plates and no tail lamps.
