Man arrested after alleged standoff in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. – One man has been arrested following a reported hours-long standoff in Graves County.

According to the Graves County Sheriff’s office, on Wednesday around 8:20 a.m., a caller reported an altercation and shots fired at a mobile home park off of Kentucky Highway 534 on Toy Circle.

Authorities say they arrived, along with Kentucky State Police, and learned that 39-year-old Todd A. Hutson of Symsonia had assaulted two individuals, as well as firing a handgun.

One gunshot was fired near the victim’s head, authorities say.

Hutson then entered a nearby mobile home and refused to come out, according to deputies.

Authorities say for over around two hours, a standoff took place. At around 10:13 a.m., authorities say they entered a mobile home to take Hutson into custody.

Hutson attempted to flee but was apprehended, authorities say.

He faces charges of fourth-degree assault, wanton endangerment (discharge of a firearm), menacing and resisting arrest.

Hutson was transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and later to an out-of-county detention center.
