Love Your Parks seeking volunteers in Glasgow

GLASGOW, Ky. – With Earth Day coming up on Saturday, the City of Glasgow is uniting to restore life to their parks.

Love Your Parks Day takes place on Friday at the five parks throughout the area.

The day will consist of clean up throughout American Legion, Beaver Creek, Gorin, Twyman and Weldon parks as well as other assorted projects.

There are volunteer groups already signed up, but the City of Glasgow Parks & Recreation Department wants you to help out.

The department says it is excited to let you help out in keeping their city clean and join together in the process.

“So the Love Your Parks Day for us is just about getting the community involved with the Parks Department… showing their appreciation for what we offer to them and getting them a little skin in the game so to speak… letting them help us keep the parks clean,” Director Eddie Furlong says.

Clean up times are 8-11 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.

If you or your group is interested in helping out, contact the Glasgow Parks & Rec Department at 270-651-3811.
