Local law enforcement cracking down on registered sex offenders
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Local law enforcement is cracking down on sex offenders in the area.
Last week during a sting operation, 14 sex offenders in Warren County were discovered out of compliance with sex offender registry requirements.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Bowling Green Police Department and Kentucky State Police Post 3 are among the local law enforcement agencies that regularly enforce compliance regulations for sex offenders.
Registered sex offenders have a variety of restrictions. Some are forbidden to have internet access and others are not allowed to work certain jobs.
Despite the regular efforts by law enforcement to enforce compliance regulations, sex offenders are regular discovered living in areas where they are prohibited from living.
It often takes a lot of preparation and planning for BGPD to pull off sting operations. In Warren County there are more than 130 registered sex offenders.
