Local breast cancer survivor writes book about faith through recovery
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-If a good book is on your summer to-do list… you may want to look for a local author’s first book about being a breast cancer survivor.
The book is titled God (Still) Whispers.
One in every seven women will get breast cancer in their lifetime.
Wendi Kelley missed only one mammogram appointment… at her next screening she was presented with terrifying news. She had breast cancer.
She says her faith got her through rounds of chemotherapy. Now a cancer survivor, she felt called to write a book and share her experience.
“All this information is given to you all at once and it’s a lot to absorb. So I prayed for guidance and clarity and that’s exactly what was given was guidance and clarity. And honestly at that time I felt like I was called to write this book to help others,” said Kelley.
Kelley is donating 100 copies of her book to local hospitals where patients are receiving cancer treatments.
The first-time author hopes her story of survival shows them there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
