Lily May Bourbon Company speaks on local impact after Lukefoods visit
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A well-known food influencer visited a local Bowling Green business earlier this year, and now the business has been booming since.
“’Hey, I saw you on Lukefoods, I saw you on Lukefoods.’ We still get that today,” said Chad Humphrey, the owner of Lily May Bourbon Company.
The Lily May Bourbon Company restaurant in Bowling Green has been booming with business since one post surfaced on social media by the food influencer, Lukefoods.
“Today we’re going to try to help another struggling restaurant. I got a DM recently from a worker at Lily May Bourbon Company in Bowling Green Kentucky,” you can hear Luke Collins saying in the video he reviewed the food at Lily May Bourbon Company.
“My daughter actually sent him a message recommending us saying, ‘hey, stop by anytime.’ He did, and he came in and grabbed some food to go. Reviewed us in his car. He really liked the food,” Humphrey said.
Collins has nearly 2 million followers across all platforms on social media, and on that video, over 2.4 million views.
“I can tell you, we had five people come in within an hour of him posting the video to place his direct order he got that day,” Humphrey said.
Since then, business has been booming at the restaurant.
“It just grew from there. That night we saw 10 more. The next day we saw 10, 15, 20 it just kept growing,” he said.
The Lily May Bourbon Company just opened its doors in October 2025 and it’s coming up on its first year anniversary. Chad Humphrey and his wife started the business out of their love for cooking.
Humphrey said the influence of social media can drastically impact a business. He said Collins’ click on a post has impacted their restaurant. Collins also dedicates some of his videos to helping restaurants grow.
“From firsthand I can already tell you our business turned around over night but I have seen his videos have saved places in Kentucky. Just the visibility of his videos have changed businesses,” Humphrey said.
Recently, Collins took to socials while in a hospital room, stating he has a health concern and has been getting help from his mom to continue pushing content.
“We hope he gets better. We wish him the best. Nothing but good thoughts out there. We hope to see him again soon,” Humphrey said.
Chad said he is grateful for influencers like Collins that use their platforms to build others up.
“He’s a pretty nice kid. I appreciate what he does and I know other businesses do as well. Looks like it’s his passion. It is what he loves doing. It really helps places. We saw a huge bump after he came and saw us,” he said.
