Cultural Awareness Corvette Weekend brings event to Moss Middle School
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The students of Moss Middle School got the opportunity to see some fancy hot rods close up on Thursday.
The Cultural Awareness Corvette Weekend had dozens of the cars there Thursday afternoon. The kids got to touch and get into the vehicles, as well as rev the engines.
Angela Stephens, executive secretary of the Cultural Awareness Corvette Weekend, says, “I thought they were really cool. Like the colors of it. Like, it’s so vibrant and it stands out, the noise they make. I feel like they’re very good for the kids. I feel like all the kids will, like, want to be, have that when they’re older. That’s what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna put the engine in the back just so we can make it exotic. I think it’s really cool that the kids have the opportunity to see the cars and enjoy them while being at school. You don’t have to be an NBA player. You don’t have to be an NFL player to own a Corvette. You just have to be a hard worker. All you have to do is stay focused, get an education or get a skill.”
The Cultural Awareness Corvette Weekend caps the event off with a light show on Saturday night at the Holiday Inn at dusk. The event is free and open to the public.
