Lightning strikes home in Grayson County, causes fire

GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. (K105) – A lightning strike resulted in a fire at a Grayson County home on Sunday.

According to a report by K105, Leitchfield and Falls of Rough firefighters were dispatched to a residential fire Sunday morning in the 500 block of Warren Purcell Road.

K105 states an occupant said smoke was coming from an air conditioner, with flames visible behind a washer and dryer.

According to the report, upon arrival, firefighters learned lightning had struck a mobile home and sparked a fire in the wall.

Firefighters say they extinguished the fire by tearing out an outside wall to the home.

No injuries were reported, according to K105.
