Latte Art Throwdown returns to Spencer’s Coffee to support Hive Inc.
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hundreds of coffee lovers and baristas from Tennessee, Kentucky, and even New York converged at Spencer’s Coffee last night for the 7th annual latte art throwdown competition that supports The Hive of Bowling Green.
Spencer’s Coffee in Bowling Green hosted the Latte Art Throwdown.
It’s a bracket-style competition to see who can pour the best cup of coffee.
Judges decided the winners of each round based on design, detail, symmetry, and balance.
There was also a $3,500 dollar prize pot for first through eighth places with matching donations to The Hive of Bowling Green.
The Hive of Bowling Green is a non-profit that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them find jobs, independence, and housing.
All of the proceeds from last night’s event go to The Hive of Bowling Green and their programming.
The co-owner of Spencer’s Coffee, Shelley Shepherd, says it’s all about getting the community involved.
Last year, the Latte Art Throwdown raised $6,500 dollars for The Hive of Bowling Green.

The supreme champion is Chandler Roberds from Seeds Coffee.
The runner up is Loren Gifford from Spencer’s Coffee and third is Walt Deezy from Rosalind Coffee in New York.
