KYTC announces traffic pattern change in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is set to begin work on intersection projects in Monroe County.

According to a release, crews will begin work on a traffic pattern change at the intersection of KY 163 (Tompkinsville Bypass) and KY 100 (Center Point Road) on Monday.

KYTC says the new traffic pattern will remove truck climbing lanes in both directions, relocate the stop signs closer to the travel lanes, and update signage. Rumble strips will be added to the roadway.

The change comes following an evaluation conducted in 2022 following multiple crashes on the Tompkinsville Bypass. The evaluation resulted in the recommendation to convert the intersection to a four-way stop. The conversion was completed in March of 2022.
