SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force is sharing its latest work on local investigations.

During October, the task force says it opened 15 new investigations, including several older, unsolved cases.

In addition, the agency states it obtained multiple indictments, totaling 20 serious felony charges, ranging from attempted murder to first-degree rape, arson, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree sodomy, incest and first-degree assault.

The agency states it continues to seek justice for victims.

Some of this month’s cases include that of 7-year-old Revelin Meador, whose death case was reopened as a homicide. Authorities say this led to the arrest of Meador’s grandfather, 70-year-old Bobby Meador, who faces a charge of first-degree manslaughter.

The agency stated:

“We want to especially recognize the bravery of the victims who have come forward. Many of these investigations would not have been possible without their willingness to speak about the crimes they endured, sometimes years after they occurred. We understand how difficult that can be, and we have tremendous respect for their courage. By coming forward, these victims may very well be preventing someone else from experiencing the same thing.”

“We also want to thank the members of our community who continue to provide information, share concerns, and trust our investigators with their stories. Your willingness to help has made a real difference in these investigations.

“Our work is far from finished. We will continue investigating both new and older cases, including cold cases that deserve another look. To the victims and the citizens who have placed their trust in us, thank you. We will continue working hard to earn that trust.”
