KSP Post 16 trooper involved in collision with two tractor-trailers

HENDERSON, Ky. – A Kentucky State Police Post 16 trooper was reportedly involved in a collision with two tractor-trailers on Friday.

According to authorities, around 12:08 a.m., a tractor-trailer driven by Jesus Vasquez of Illinois was traveling east on 15652 U.S. 60 near Reed, Kentucky.

During this time, troopers say Vasquez crossed the centerline, side-swiping another tractor-trailer before side-swiping Trooper Francis’ patrol vehicle.

Authorities say Francis and the other tractor-trailer were going westbound.

Both tractor-trailer drivers were transported to Henderson Deaconess Hospital for minor injuries. Authorities say Francis’ patrol vehicle sustained moderate damage.

Francis was not injured during the collision, according to authorities.

The investigation is ongoing.
